Due to this historical prominence, although many other navies have similar designations, only the United Kingdom's is referred to as "The Royal Navy" without further qualification. I agree with WG putting them there, but I do not agree with the effort required to access them. From the early 18th century until the middle of the 20th century, the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom was the most powerful in the world, defeating the French, Dutch and Spanish navies to establish the British Empire as the dominant world power - the "empire on which the sun never sets" - influencing many aspects of life in numerous countries across the world, even today. (Now if you want to talk about the ups and downs of the Unique Upgrades moving to the RB, that's a whole different story. If you're grumbling and groaning about how many more lines you have to do before (insert shiny here) is yours, you're missing the point. It rewards them for their efforts.įor me, doing it specifically to get the ships is missing the point of why it's there. I have always considered that the RB is for people who WANT to regrind their lines and ENJOY regrinding them (especially in the new meta, with new opponents to face that might not have been there when they first did their grinds, andwith the advantage of all the flags and stuff), but who found it painful due to the need to start separate accounts. On the flipside, I think it's fair to say that anyone who's using the RB for the purpose of acquiring Ohio and Colbert is grinding through the ships so fast that it won't take them at all long to get there. But they’re also saying “cash in on the RB with this line before Moskva moves, because after - you can’t.” At least not until you grind the new T10.
